When door pickup beats a counter
Meest, FedEx Office, and retail parcel shops work when you can carry one small carton and park nearby. They fail when you have eight moving boxes, a walk-up, no elevator, or no car that fits the load.
Duma International is the van + crew layer: same corridor vans that already move apartments between New York and Florida. International is an add-on stop, not a second company to hunt down.
How we price boxes
Billable weight = the greater of actual pounds and volumetric weight (L×W×H in inches ÷ 166). Customer rate: $1.75 per billable pound + destination delivery fee + $35 door pickup when we collect at your address.
Example: a 24×18×18 box that weighs 22 lb may bill closer to volumetric if it is light but bulky — the calculator shows both so you are not surprised at pickup.
How to pack
Double-wall cartons for books and dishes. Fill voids. Tape H-seals. Mark “fragile” only when it is true — we still treat glass carefully, but customs and handlers need honest labels.
No aerosols, lithium batteries loose in a box, or liquids unless we confirm the destination allows them. List odd items in the calculator notes before we schedule.

How much does it cost to ship boxes overseas?

Do you pick up in Brooklyn / Jersey City / Miami?
Yes — those are on our corridor. Enter your ZIP in the calculator or call; if you are off-route we say so before pickup.
Can I ship store purchases in boxes?
Personal household cartons yes. Store forwarding (Amazon → foreign address) needs a US receiving address — ask us; Canada and some destinations are personal parcels only.
